NSYNC got it right, for once

This is a sequel to https://dalehusband.wordpress.com/2009/02/11/how-christian-bigots-make-the-peace-process-of-israel-and-palestine-impossible/

I have little regard for most pop vocal stars and note that most of them profess to be Christians (at least they mention their faith in God and/or Jesus Christ in the liner notes of their albums). That includes NSYNC, five young boys who were ultra-hot a decade ago. But on one of their albums, “No Strings Attached”, they made a bold statement in one of their songs. Here is the lyrics for it:

http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/nsync/spacecowboyyippieyiya.html

“Space Cowboy (Yippie-Yi-Ya)”

Here it comes, millennium
And everybody’s talkin’ bout Jerusalem
Is this the beginning or beginning of the end?
Well, I’ve got other thoughts my friend

See I’ve got my eyes on the skies
The heavenly bodies up high
And if you’re in the mood to take a ride
Then strap on a suit and get inside

If you wanna fly, come and take a ride
Take a space ride with the cowboy, baby
If you wanna fly, come and take a ride
Take a space ride with the cowboy, baby
Why-yi-yi-yippie-yi-yay-yippie-yi-yo-yippie-yi-yay
Why-yi-yi-yippie-yi-yay-yippie-yi-yo-yippie-yi-yo
Why-yi-yi-yippie-yi-yay-yippie-yi-yo-yippie-yi-yay
Why-yi-yi-yippie-yi-yay-yippie-yi-yo-yippie-yi-yo

We don’t need all these prophecies
Telling us what’s a sign, what’s a sign
Cause paranoia ain’t the way to live your life from day to day
So leave your doubts and your fears behind

Don’t be afraid at all
Cause up in outer space there’s no gravity to fall
Put your mind and your body to the test
Cuz up in outer space is like the wild wild west

Boom and never let you try to stop me
Born to fly sky high up to the top see
Nothing to fear, no doubts and no tears
Millennium sound to motivate the future years
And you can either be scared or get prepared
Against all odds I bet you never would’ve dared
To make these moves and take flight like me
To come through for the world prophecy
Space connect to overthrow your interception
Ready or not make it hot
That ain’t no question
Get *N Sync and put your head to the sky
Keep the faith
One love from Left Eye

I guess that means they are not fans of Bible prophecy experts like Hal Lindsey, eh? Indeed, being Christian doesn’t mean you have to take seriously every moron who professes that faith and tries to scare you with baseless crap.

Later, after NSYNC had broken up, one of its members, Lance Bass, came out as gay.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lance_Bass#Sexual_orientation

Bass came out as gay in a cover story for People magazine on July 26, 2006.[7] There had been considerable media speculation about his orientation due to numerous paparazzi snapshots of him at gay bars and nightclubs, most notably during the preceding Independence Day weekend in Provincetown, Massachusetts.[56] Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton had also been posting items on his website about Bass’s orientation since September 2005,[57] and New York gossip column Page Six ran a blurb on July 12, 2006 that reported a sighting of Bass at a gay bar with his then-boyfriend, Reichen Lehmkuhl.[56] Bass’s publicist, Ken Sunshine, chose to release the story exclusively to People magazine, who bumped actor Johnny Depp off of that week’s cover in favor of Bass.[58] In his coming out interview, Bass stated,

The thing is, I’m not ashamed – that’s the one thing I want to say. I don’t think it’s wrong, I’m not devastated going through this. I’m more liberated and happy than I’ve been my whole life. I’m just happy.[7]

He should be. Being true to yourself is always the best sort of happiness.

Hey, whatever happened to Hal Lindsay? Is he still waiting for Russia to invade Israel, for China to also attack the Middle East, and for the Rapture to happen?

Lindsey hosted International Intelligence Briefing on the Trinity Broadcasting Network and serves on the executive board of Christian Voice.[1]

International Intelligence Briefing was removed from the air on TBN for the entire month of December 2005. Lindsey claimed that this was because “some at the network apparently feel that [his] message is too pro-Israel and too anti-Muslim.”[2] TBN owner Paul Crouch, however, contended that “TBN has never been and is not now against Israel and the Jewish people.”[3] Crouch said that Lindsey’s show was pre-empted for Christmas programming. Lindsey countered that this was the first time his show had been preempted for the entire month of December. TBN later admitted that a secondary reason for pre-empting the show was that it “placed Arabs in a negative light.”[4]

Lindsey resigned from TBN on January 1, 2006, and indicated that he would pursue another television ministry. His new program, The Hal Lindsey Report, is focused on Biblical prophecy and current events, and is carried on the Angel One and DayStar networks. In January 2007, Lindsey announced that he would be returning to the TBN network. The Hal Lindsey Report airs on TBN under his own financing.[5]

He wrote in an essay on WorldNetDaily that Barack Obama was paving the way for, and demonstrating the world’s readiness for, the antichrist, “Obama is correct in saying that the world is ready for someone like him — a messiah-like figure, charismatic and glib … The Bible calls that leader the Antichrist. And it seems apparent that the world is now ready to make his acquaintance.”[6]

In The Late, Great Planet Earth, Lindsey wrote that he had concluded, since there was no apparent mention of the United States of America in the books of Daniel or Revelation, that the USA would no longer be a major player on the geo-political stage by the time the tribulations of the end times arrived. Lindsey also interpreted from Revelation and prophetic texts that the European Economic Community, which preceded the European Union, was destined (according to Biblical prophecy) to become a “United States of Europe“, with ten members, which in turn he says is destined to become a “Revived Roman Empire” ruled by the Antichrist. The European Union currently has 27 members.

The 1980s: Countdown to Armageddon strongly suggests that the 1980s would be the last decade before Biblical events of tribulation and end times. Planet Earth – 2000 A.D., published in the early 1990s, states that Christians should not plan to still be on earth by the year 2000.

Some people really don’t know when to shut the hell up! Indeed, the bastard is still at it:

The Hal Lindsey Report: 7-30-2010

On this week’s edition of “The Hal Lindsey Report”: Under the leadership of President Obama, Israeli-US relations have taken quite a beating. His ‘popularity’ ratings in Israel are in the single digits. The Israeli public simply does not trust him and they feel like America has thrown Israel under the bus.

Apparently, that didn’t bother the Administration and it was “full speed ahead” in the drive to cozy up to the Arab-Muslim world. It seemed that no cost was too great — even abandoning Israel — if it accomplished the President’s goal of American-Muslim affinity.

But now we know that there really was a point at which the cost became too great. The Democrat National Committee recently realized that it was many millions of dollars down in its fundraising for the upcoming mid-term elections. And it was glaringly apparent that the constituency from which the giving had dried up was the American Jewish community. So, as I reported a couple of weeks ago, the White House went into damage control mode and started a charm offensive toward Israel and the Jewish community.

White House operatives fanned out and began to sweet talk the Jewish organizations here in the States. President Obama invited Prime Minister Netanyahu back to the White House and, evidently, promised that he’d be a better host this time than he was last March. He might even allow himself to be seen in public with the Prime Minister and certainly wouldn’t stomp out of any meetings and leave the PM sitting, staring at the walls.

So Netanyahu returned and everyone made nice before the cameras. Obama even walked Netanyahu out to his car and added some extra pumps to his farewell handshake!

This past week, an Assistant Secretary of State appeared before a Jewish audience and confirmed that, indeed, “Israel is a vital ally and cornerstone of our regional security commitments.” Now, that sounds pretty good at first, but I think it woefully understates the case. Israel is not just a “vital ally” in that region. Israel is our ONLY ally in the Middle East.

(Dale Husband: Lindsey does not provide a single shred of documentation for his claims. Indeed the claim in about Israel being “our ONLY ally in the Middle East” is an outright lie. What then, is Saudi Arabia, which supplies us with so much oil and which we protected from Iraqi invasion during Operation Desert Storm? What about Iraq itself now, after we overthrew Saddam and a pro-American government was elected there? What about Egypt, which signed a peace treaty with Israel and recieves aid from the USA? Are those Arab states enemies of America?)

What’s more, unlike our other friends in the area who are simply ‘allies of convenience,’ Israel and the United States are natural allies because we share common values, freedoms, ideals, goals, ideologies, and respect for human rights and the law. We even share a common Bible. Many Israeli citizens were born and reared in the US. The Mosaic Law is the foundation of our own law. And our rule of law is a big part of what makes America so successful. To say Israel is anything less than our greatest ally — especially in the Middle East — is to be less than clear-eyed or honest.

Yet, despite all this, the Bible says that eventually Israel will stand completely alone and friendless against the entire world.

Yes, Israel and the USA do have much in common. Like Israel, the USA took land from other peoples to make itself powerful and even confined some of those people, labled “Indians”, in concentration camps called “reservations”, some of which exist to this day (though they were not used to exterminate the Native Americans outright like the Nazis did the Jews). Israel respects human rights only as far as Jews are concerned, and routinely throws Palestinians under the bus whenever it sees it can get away with it. THAT is why it has lost so much support around the world!

And with a backstabbing “ally” like Israel, America does not need enemies:

http://amconmag.com/article/2008/jun/02/00006/

After Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard was sentenced to life in prison in 1986, the U.S. negotiated an understanding with Israel—a “gentlemen’s agreement” —stipulating that neither nation would thenceforth conduct espionage operations in the other’s territory without consent. But the agreement was a sham from the beginning. The Israeli government didn’t even honor its commitments in the aftermath of the Pollard case, failing to return the estimated 360 cubic feet of stolen information to enable the U.S. to conduct a damage assessment. The United States, for its part, continued to recruit and run agents inside Israel throughout the 1980s and 1990s. And it was known within the intelligence and counterintelligence communities that Israel did the same in the United States. David Szady, the FBI’s assistant director for counterintelligence, was so dismayed by the level of Israeli spying in the late ’90s that he called in the head of the Israeli Embassy’s Central Institute for Intelligence and Special Activities (Mossad) office and told him, “Knock it off.”

In 1996, ten years after the agreement that concluded the Pollard affair, the Pentagon’s Defense Investigative Service warned defense contractors that Israel had “espionage intentions and capabilities” here and was aggressively trying to steal military and intelligence secrets. It also cited a security threat posed by individuals who have “strong ethnic ties” to Israel, stating that “Placing Israeli nationals in key industries … is a technique utilized with great success.” The memo cited illegal transfer of proprietary information from an Illinois optics firm in 1986, after the Pollard arrest, as well as the theft of test equipment for a radar system in the mid-1980s. A storm of outrage from the Anti-Defamation League led to the Pentagon’s withdrawal of the memo, an apology that predictably blamed the language on “a low-ranking individual,” and a promise that no similar warning would be written again.

But the issue of Israeli spying would not go away. Soon after, the General Accounting Office, the investigative arm of Congress, completed an examination of espionage directed against American defense and security industries. The report described how Israeli citizens residing in the U.S. had stolen sensitive technology to manufacture artillery gun tubes, obtained classified plans for a reconnaissance system, and passed sensitive aerospace designs to unauthorized users. An Israeli company was caught monitoring a Department of Defense telecommunications system to obtain classified information, while other Israeli entities targeted avionics, missile telemetry, aircraft communications, software systems, and advanced materials and coatings used in missile re-entry. Independently, a Defense Department source confirmed the GAO report, citing “dozens of other spy cases within the U.S. Defense industry.” The GAO concluded that Israel “conducts the most aggressive espionage operation against the United States of any U.S. ally.”

In early 2001, several federal government agencies noticed a series of intrusive approaches by Israelis who were ostensibly selling paintings. In June, the Drug Enforcement Administration made a compilation of the activities of the so-called “art students” in a classified report, which was later leaked. The report documents 125 specific attempts by Israelis to gain entry to government offices, residences of government employees, and even Defense Department facilities between January and June 2001. The Israelis “targeted and penetrated military bases” and were observed trying to enter federal buildings from back doors and parking garages. One detained Israeli was caught wandering around the federal building in Dallas with a detailed floor plan in hand. Many of those arrested were found to have backgrounds in “military intelligence, electronic surveillance intercept, or explosive ordnance units.”

According to a Fox News investigative report, which was later deleted from Fox’s website under pressure from various pro-Israel groups, DEA and FBI sources say that even to suggest that Israel might be spying using Comverse “is considered career suicide.”

A number of criminal investigations using Comverse equipment have apparently come to dead ends when the targets abruptly change their telecommunications methods, suggesting at a minimum that Comverse employees might be leaking sensitive information to Israeli organized crime.

The chickens occasionally come home to roost. In 2002, Israeli espionage might have been directed against the U.S. Congress, which has so assidiously ignored Tel Aviv’s spying. Congressman Bob Ney, currently in prison for corruption, arranged a noncompetitive bid for the Israeli telecommunications company Foxcom Wireless to install equipment to improve cellphone reception in the Capitol and House office buildings. Foxcom, based in Jerusalem, has been linked to imprisoned lobbyist Jack Abramoff. Telecommunications security experts note that equipment that can be used to enhance or improve a signal can also be used to redirect the phone conversation to another location for recording and analysis. The possibility that someone in the Israeli Embassy might be listening to congressmen’s private phone conversations is intriguing to say the least.

Some might argue that collecting intelligence is a function of government and that espionage, even between friends, will always take place. But the intensity and persistence of Israeli spying against the United States is particularly disturbing since Israel relies so heavily on American political and military support. Other allies like Britain, France, and Germany undoubtedly have spies in Washington, but there is a line that they do not cross.

Given the stakes involved, it would be reasonable for the United States to quietly offer Israel’s leaders a choice. They can continue to receive billions of dollars in aid, or they can persist in spying against their greatest benefactor. They should not be permitted to do both.

Hal Lindsey is a pathological liar and probably always has been!
